Sum Yi Tai

The first of its kind, Sun Yi Tai (meaning “Third Wife” in Cantonese) brings good ol’ Chinese food into the modern designer bar setting at its Boon Tat Street shop-house, with a ground floor Chinese Tapas Bar, second floor Dining Club, & Private Rooftop Bar.

At Sum Yi Tai, Cantonese cuisine & Chinese tapas are served alongside a wide range of cocktails, premium whiskies & a good selection of fine wines, where guests can enjoy a tipple, while savouring a slice of roast pork or two. In keeping with the 1980s Hong Kong theme, the music played at Sun Yi Tai is nostalgic ’80s Canto-pop.

Eu-Yen’s vision is to bring Chinese cuisine into the trendy concept bar scene, offering good Chinese food amid an upbeat night-out experience, rather than a conventional Chinese restaurant.

Prior to Sum Yi Tai, Eu-Yen co-founded & was Executive Chairman of The Butter Factory. Preceding her entrepreneurial life, Ms Tay was familiar with a different kind of bar: as a litigation lawyer with Drew & Napier LLC.
